SJS '78 SILVER JUBILEE REUNION
Minutes of 6 Dec 2003 Meeting at 3rd floor SJS VocTech Building
Present were: Ramses Carbunco, Lito Austria, Judel Lapid, Rolando Garcia, Raul Carpio, Jim Alejandro, Ed Piano, Roel Dabu, Connie Yabut, Angelita Sallutan, Rodel Jimenez, Ronald Pansacula, Lyn Tacuyan, Rosalinda Briones, Malou Maraya, Lourdes Bagsic, Mady Villegas, Norneta Rico, Charlie Tan, Lito Lee, Roger Magbutay and Tess Rementilla
Minutes of 29 Nov 2003 meeting was approved as read.
Venue for the first day event was once again deliberated due to concerns related to cost, privacy, safety and the fact that there are better offers received during the past week. Private beaches of Guerrero and Viacrusis are now being seriously considered.
The use of Subic Dream Garden for the second day affair was unanimously approved.
P2,000.00 budget for Sound System which include a videoke was approved, care of Raul Carpio
P7,000.00 budget for decoration and site preparation was approved. Care of Jim Alejandro. This includes provision of a stage, backdrop design with panel boards, satin flags, fiesta banderettas, welcome streamers both inside and outside of venue, directional signages, flower arrangements both for Mass Offering & at the Altar, name tags for participants, styrofor design for silver jubilee cake and ballons on stage-cottages-trees-vehicles(motorcade)
Free t-shirt printing and SJS '78 souvenir flaglets will be provided by Jim as token for fellow alumni
Charlie Tan volunteered to provide 30 tables and 100 chairs. The truck of Rey & Lourdes will be used to haul tables/chairs on Dec 26, 2003
Food and refreshment: Since straight catering turned out to be very expensive (P300.00 per person at limited pa pagkain), the body decided to return to original plan which is MODIFIED POTLUCK. Meaning there will be food prepared but participants who will be bringing guests (like family members) are required to bring extra food; actually, we are all encouraged to bring extra food (yong specialty nyong luto o kaya yong paborito nyong pagkain). . . painomin pa lalo para makatulog na.
P15,000.00 was set aside for catering, care-of Lourdes (this includes food and table preparation and distribution kasama na mga plato at utensils).
Menu: Lechon, inihaw na isda, sweet n sour lapu-lapu, kilawen tanigue, pakbet, sashimi, pork bbq, chicken bbq, hotdogs, fruits of season, cake and overflowing ice tea. Connie Yabut is in charge of BBQs and fruits; the rest will be taken cared of by Lourdes (dami abono ni Rey)
Ayon! Mukhang wala nang makapipigil sa reunion natin!
After our meeting sa VocTec bldg, lumipat kami sa high school library where we met with Ma'm Ridon, Among other things, our planned donation for the school was discussed. We were informed that our school will be named Saint Joseph's College starting next year, because of the school's expansion and the need for the new college to be accredited by Commission on Higher Education, many equipment, specially from H.E. were transferred to the college building. In this regard, Mrs. Ridon was suggesting that we donate any of the following: a 9 cu.ft. refrigerator, a cooking range, or an oven.
Minutes of 29 Nov 2003 Meeting at 2nd floor SJS VocTech Building, Olongapo City
Present were: Tess Rementilla, Raul Carpio, Rolando Garcia, Jim Alejandro, Arthur Marcial, Bob Campano, Bernie Limin, Judel Lapid, Rodel Jimenez, Jerry Sumbad, Mady Villegas, Malou Maraya, Allan Regala, Lito Lee, Roel Dabu, Rey Bautista, Mike deGuzman, Roger Magbutay, Ed Piano
Copy of 22 Nov 2003 Minutes of Meeting were distributed, reviewed and approved.
Each Committee Chairman gave detailed plan for body's approval.
Jim and Raul had their plan for venue preparation and sound system approved.
Arthur, Bob and Malou initially suggested a stand-by ambulance but the body thought this would not be required since we have lots of stand-by vehicle in case of emergency. A first-aid kit will be ready just in case.
No cost was pegged on the exchange gift, it was suggested however that gifts for kids and adults be separated.
Allan discussed the different options regarding food/drinks preparation and distribution. It was decided to acquire a food catering service so that everybody would enjoy the event and nobody tied to whole day tasks (at baka maging killjoy). Menu and official food caterer will be decided next meeting after extensive canvass.
Jerry Sumbad volunteered to take care of all Seafoods Requirements.
Those who wish to avail of alcoholic beverages may either buy it on site or bring their own.
Everyone is reminded that the P500 fee should be paid by next meeting
With no other matter to discuss, meeting adjourns at 12pm.
